She had heard her name on the wind…

Long ago before this life begins.

She had camped in ditches and caves.

She slept in the arms of kings and knaves.

She had slept among the mosses.

She had  just kept on going never counted her losses.

Many said she was a “wild child”

who had never outgrown.

There were those who

 said she better stay alone.

Many said she was not “fit company.”

Many said she was a hateful crone.

Then she heard the Voice within her sing,

“I have many blessings which to you I bring. “

Then she sang

to greet the dawn.

Then she sang

to caress the breeze.

Then she sang because it pleased her so.

It pleased  both up above and down below.

She sang her song  where’er she goes.

She sang the song and let it flow.

Then she sang the sweetest song.

Then she sang all day long.

Her song softened her mood

like a warm summer’s rain.

Her song reached within her being

It started a flood of warming melody.

It opened her heart so it was now seeing.

So gently, gently it diminished and  soothed the pain.

Her song renewed her spirit.

Her song…oh you must hear it.

Your song it is within you now….

Relax to hear its lilting voice.

Better still my dearest heart

Find your voice it is time to start.

She had heard her name on the wind…

Long ago before this life begins.

A Love Heart with the "I Surrender" ...
Image via Wikipedia

How many times will my gratitude speak

when gifts of love fall at my feet?

How many times will I stop to say,

beloved dear heart, I am glad you stayed?

How many arms will I open wide,

when my love I can no longer hide?

How much love will it take to heal,

how much longer till I get to feel?

How often will my joy increase,

how many times will I offer you peace?

How much love will it take to grow

until it is time for me to go?

How much service can I give,

to thank you for this new way to live?

How much love does it take to  be guessing

how much I needed forgiveness, confessing?

How many lifetimes before I grow

into following this path with the silence I know?

How many sunsets will it take

before I surrender, before I break?

After the silence, the surrender comes…

I find my sacred song on the tip of my tongue.

How many ways can I say thank you?

Waiting in Silence

For the peace that comes from within

 it is a quiet blessing

promotes a giant grin.

There are no words

to describe the miracle it brought.

This new spiritual condition…

I know it can be caught.

It is there in the sound of silence.

It is within the songbirds song

It is in the song of music

that begs you sing along

It is the wonder of the hay bales

covered with winters snow

As the sunlight dances from them

into sunrise’s majestic glow.

The sparkling diamond  of

the snow as it glistens in the light.

How the moon plays across the field

brightening the darkest night

Oh silence and its beauty

Bring forth a wonderous song…

the light and love

from God above

helps the silence and the silent ones

to stay strong.
