My shadow can never be Separate from me .
Nonetheless I burn it so that the day of glory .
He will revive and be one with me .
He know that he stems from me .
He will be separate from the enemy .
Go to saqi to hear the rest . He will say it all .
In the language of those who behold the face of the beloved .
Divan-e Shams-e Tabrizi 

نقل کنم ور نکنم سایه را
سایه ی من کی بود از من جدا ؟
لیک ز جایش ببرم تا شود
وصلت او ظاهر وقت جلا
تا که بداند او فرع ماست
تا که جدا گردد او از عدا
رو بر ساقی و شنو باقی اش
تات بگوید به زبان بقا
دیوان شمس تبریزی
