Mother

Snapshot_20110812_18

August is her birth date.
I know not,

how wise she be.
I know not,

her fears, nor sorrows
Not the worries,

 she cannot free.
I only know,

her loving wishes
I only know,

her prayerful thoughts.

But I wonder, do you know.
My dear Mother that I love you lots.
I love you not only,

 for the things you did;
but for the things ,

that have gone unsaid.

For the nights of prayerful wonder
That filled your heart with dread.
Wondering and worrying (and praying)
About your children would they
“all know the Lord” before you were dead.

How your heart must have broken each time,
When you did not hear His call.

“They are also my children, and I love
and care for them one and all.
You have shown them my Ways dear daughter.
You planted my Words very deep.
Rest now dear child.
Your children are mine to keep.
You gave them life.
You gave them love.
You gave them each other.
You told them no matter where they roam:
I am always with them
Now, dear Child, let them come Home,
on that loving.
Drop your worries and tears
Trust in your Heavenly Father.
Leave off your troubles and fears.
Look only to your Deepening in the Love
I have shown to you.
Look to your Heavenly Father.
He’ll be sure to see you and yours through.
Step nightly into
His Kingdom
Relax in His
Loving Arms
Trust in His Love
As your Mother taught you
There is an answer to Prayer.
You know of my Infinite mercy.
You know of my Loving arms.
I am the One, Who created you.
I am your Heavenly Host.
You don’t have to wait for the Rapture
To live life in heavenly bliss.
Just bend your will to the Master
Feel the Holy Spirit’s sweet kiss.”

You are my Mother,
I chose you.
I nurtured you in my heart.
I have loved you from now to forever.
But, sometimes, I don’t know where to start…
To show you that
I am under the Master’s care
That His love and Guidance are with me.

So I hope that this love poem will tell
You more than I can share
That I love you my Darling Mother and
You will have good memories in prayer.

I wrote this poem to my Mother many years ago on parchment in calligraphy.  I read it to her. We had relatives visiting.  She accepted my gift…despite our conflicts only a Mother and daughter can have.   She liked it and kept it.  When she passed in April of 2008, it was among the gifts the family shared with me.  I am sharing this now with you.
