“Shut in with God”

Over and o’ er my heart song sings

“Shut in with God

In a secret place.

There in the Spirit

beholding His face.

Gaining new power

to run in God’s race

Oh, I long to be

Shut in with God.”

Singing it out again now

My heart has wings…

I will sing it in the Morning

At the break of day

I will sing it at the Noon time

I will let Spirit have Its say.

I will sing in the evening

As I tumble into bed

I will always be singing 

 this grand old tune

I will sing of God’s sweet glory

As I sit ‘neath the moon.

I will sing it in sunshine

I will sing it in rain…

I will sing it in sorrow

I shall sing it to ease the pain.

This is a song I learned at Mother’s knee

She learned it from her Mother, sang it our with glee

She sang it in the evening, at the setting of the sun.

She sang it throughout the day with five kids on the run.

She sang, she lived it and gives it now to me.

I use it in my comtemplations

In my private space….

I use it and I sing it.

I do see the Master’s face.
