Standing in the Presence of the Master

Standing in the Presence of the Master

For me is a joyful place.

I feel His beauty, love and grace.

It matters not where my body might be

Scrubbing floors or climbing a tree.

I can practice His prescence.

I can hear His voice.

I share the laughter.

I can let Soul rejoice.

Rumi

“There is one thing in this world that you must never forget
to do. If you forget everything else and not this, there’s
nothing to worry about, but if you remember everything
else and forget this, then you will have done nothing in
your life.

It’s as if a king has sent you to some country to do a
task, and you perform a hundred other services, but not the
one he sent you to do. So human beings come to this world
to do particular work. That work is the purpose, and each
is specific to the person. If you don’t do it, it’s as though
a priceless Indian sword were used to slice rotten meat.
It’s a golden bowl being used to cook turnips, when one
filing from the bowl could buy a hundred suitable pots. It’s
a knife of the finest tempering nailed into a wall to hang
things on.

You say, “But look, I’m using the dagger. It’s not lying
idle.” Do you hear how ludicrous that sounds? For a penny
an iron nail could be bought to serve the purpose. You
say, “But I spend my energies on lofty enterprises. I study
jurisprudence and philosophy and logic and astronomy
and medicine and all the rest.” But consider why you do
those things. They are all branches of yourself.

Remember the deep root of your being, the presence of
your lord. Give your life to the one who already owns your
breath and your moments. If you don’t, you will be like
the man who takes a precious dagger and hammers it into
his kitchen wall for a peg to hold his dipper gourd. You’ll
be wasting valuable keenness and foolishly ignoring your
dignity and your purpose.” ~ Rumi

The PH factor

If you are going to take your own life
If your decision is true
If you are telling the truth
I have something for you to do.
When you eventually get cycled and get to heaven
Give my Mother a kiss
She will love you as we all do…
Then she will kick butt
For what you are putting us all through.
Happy Journey.
It is really your choice.
I trust at the last moment
You hear the Master’s Voice.

In my happy life

A fever came.

The train was whispering my parent’s names.

I asked for help.

Then into view

came a song bird with a coat of blue.

I turned to look

I spoke the “HU” (a love song to God)

Then the darling bluejay started singing too.

HU HU HU

His song lifted my grieving heart.

He made sure that I could see

how much he enjoyed the birdbath

My grieving heart began to laugh.

He came closer and sat on the tree

He sang louder and  sang with  joy.

Then he flew closer to me.

As he sang on the balcony rail

My fear, my fever, my longing for Home began to fail.

Behind the song I knew I would heal

The feelings I felt, I just had to feel.

He sang longer to make sure I could see

That the loneliness was just Soul’s longing for the Mahanta*

I long to

 hold  you close.

I long to give you shelter

 from the storm.

I long to

hold  you close.

I long to build the fire within

and  keep you warm

I long to hold

you close

But for now

 it just can’t be

So I will wait till

you say these words to me

I long to hold you close.

Such a kiss

Your hestitation on the phone

Our laughter when we think we are alone

The shared  thoughts about clouds and fluffy things

Your smile which has so many tones

The deep mediations that preceed your call

Your prescence pervades my day

Oh such kiss.

In my solace I savour the bliss.
